Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Post your custom paint job

have you painted your own frame, or had someone else custom paint it for you? I'm about to get my old Allegro frame powder coated dark gray (what i lack in colour, i'll make up for in SPEEED)... I was just curious to see some jobs other people have done, whether it's rattle can, powder coat, brush-on, whatevs.

general rules of thumb:
for the wrong way, go here. and if your bike looks like this, don't change it to this.

interestingly enough, his fgg page has been changed.

those look really slick. I esp like the quality of the 2nd one... I'm now reconsidering the powder coat thing... Thinking of just going to home depot and grabbing some rattle cans... did you use a clear coat on the matte frame?

Thanks! I built that thing up in 1992 from a handbuilt kona frame, and it's been with me ever since. We've been through a ton together, so even though I have nicer bikes now I just can't get rid of it..
