Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Mercier Kilo TT - Where to buy

Hi,

I am looking for a Mercier Kilo TT Frame(set). Does anyone know, where I can buy one.

Yes, I have checked on eBay as well as bikesdirect and Bikesisland.

What do you guys think about the 2008 Cro-Mo from Bikesisland:

Sorry for bothering you with my beginner questions!

Thanks for your fast answer jayrooney. After submitting my thread I recognized that I forgot to mention an important fact:
I am not living within the US and unfortunately bikesisland does not ship outside the US. That is at least what I read on their homepage.

Thus I am looking for the 2008 Cro-Mo frame from another source.

Thanks

That makes things different. eBay is about the only hope you have.

Thanks baxtefer - good suggestion. Unfortunately it is more expensive and branded. But maybe my only possibility...
I keep on trying to convince bikeisland to ship abroad,

Thanks

good luck with that. Do you have any friends in the states? free shipping from bikeisland, get a friend to buy it and meet him at the boarder. Well, I guess it depends on where your friend lived.

have it shipped to a friend, then pay them to ship it to you.

It's $25 more expensive. It says on his website that the $225 price was a sale special until Christmas, 2007, but Gene sold me a 50cm for $225 in March, so he might still be flexible about that. Send him an email and ask. As for the decals, they're just stickers that I peeled off cleanly and easily with my fingers without leaving any residue. I'm pretty happy with this frame. Definitely everything I'd hoped it would be.

Jinws, bikerdfresh - thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately I do not have any friends or relatives in the States. Well, I have an uncle, but he is really old and I don't want to bother him with my concerns. By the way I am from Germany.
I need to figure something out. Maybe somebody from my messanger agency knows someone.

Deadforkinglast - I will contact Gene as you suggested to do, thanks

I see you are from Germany. The Surly Steamroller can be bought in Germany here: http://bike-components.de/catalog/Su...39b3a04ccd0845

Also, IRO ships to Europe; it was only $50 to have my frame shipped to Latvia. http://www.irocycle.com/

Also check out On one from the UK. http://www.on-one-shop.co.uk/acatalo...ompino_32.html

Yup. It'll cost you a total of about $30-40 more for another round of shipping, but you'll have the frame and color you really want.

Thanks for your support. All good advices...

Bikeisland answered my request if they would ship also abroad and they denied but they did recommend using a service like www.myus.com.

Does anyone has experiences with that?

Thanks a lot

Sounds like a lot more trouble and expense than it is worth when there are plenty of frames in Europe, and places like IRO in the States which will ship to Europe for low cost.
