Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Sugino "Carbon" BMX Chainring

http://cgi.ebay.com/Sugino-Carbon-BM...2em118Q2el1247

Anyone ever see anything like that? Looks just like the Rocket Rings. Seller says its some kind of nylon. Weird to say the least. Why would you want a full plastic chainring? I'm actually kinda tempted to buy one (to see how fast the teeth get shaved). . . but I probably won't.

my guess it is a carbon fiber blended with a plastic. It is used alot in kayak paddles to make a decent blend between light weight, but strong. At least in the paddle application it is flexy (but very bash resistant/anti cracking)
