Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

wanna make first fixie

I have an old GT outpost trail 16" that i am considering making a fixie. A few questions. Should i even bother with this frame? I usually would ride a 18" frame (im 5'10") being 2 inches to small...what problems will this cause... Also i am wanting to do 700c wheels with a flip flop hub . What size Bottom bracket do i use?..Thanks for the help...

https://www.sheldonbrown.com/fixed-conversion.html

Will help you with the conversion.

I would get a frame that is the right size as well with horizontal drops etc

Get a frame more like this:

Reynolds 531 frame and fork, headset and stem included

Tange chromoly tubing

Raleigh International, nice chrome

Or even this:

Foundry Frameworks, Canadian track frame

agreed - GT Outpost frame isn't worth it with the vertical dropouts.
