Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

they don't, they're taking the picture right after they build the bike and they don't wait to put the pedals on.

that, or they just think it looks cleaner, and they're right.

saves weight, if you really want to go fast you'd take them off too! When I do I just duct tape a AA battery (used up obviously to save more weight) to my shoe and that's my clipless pedal, it's the fastest way around, DO IT!

Those guys have shoes with posts on the inside of them to anchor into the crank pedal thread ends.

Hey,

Isn't it because it is more compact to store bikes with pedals off? I think most of those bikes never see day light as owners hate to see it scratched or something.

This solution is worth it just for the unclip sparks... Duct tape FTW.

Probably just after a build, meaning they either don't have pedals yet, or they're laying in a corner still, or on another bike.

I don't like taking pedals off period. Even with greased threads, with steel in aluminum I sometimes run in problems of threads striping or something, and this is not concerning just bike parts.

You guys ride with pedals? Pedals and cranks are so 2007. Chains hanging off the seat are the new bling ... and yes this bike is fixed.
