Photos from Cycle Messenger World Championships - Toronto, Canada

It was pretty rainy but the vibe was good and the Toronto islands are beautiful, so it was a fun time. I was only able to make it out on the Sunday but I will likely take in the big ride on Tuesday. I ran out of batteries and my skills with the camera are ass, so forgive me, but here are some photos from the start of The Big Race. I wish I could have stayed longer but I promised a friend I would help her move.

I hope everyone who was at the other events can add more photos as they get them, it really seemed like a good time although one dude told me that the F.B.I. was there taking photos. Uh, yeah.

Awesome, thanks for the pics!

I was there Saturday, I'm bummed I couldn't make it in today (Sunday) for the best trick and high bunny hop comps.

The island was an interesting venue, though it was kinda annoying having to stay on the grass the whole time as to not interrupt the race.

Thanks for sharing those pictures!

Great weekend, loved the events I did and the ones I didn't and watched, kickass fun.

I should be at the ride Tuesday. edit: which ride on Tuesday are you meaning? I just found a flyer for one at Yonge/Queens Quay...

Guess so. The bike looked to be a 54 or so and he an oval yellow Mavic sticker on the top-tube near the head-tube. I think he had silver Phils on Open Pros and the front was radially laced (I think).

I left before it was over though, I really don't know.

Guy 'Austin'(?) was doing pretty darn good when I left, on an orange fixed I didn't see clearly enough otherwise.

NYC def. East Van for the polo title and most of the other events were a bust due to the rain.

There might be a photo on this page then if that's the case - black Kalavinka w/ silver lettering.

The kona and campy rear disc wheel is Denka (not sure of how to spell his name)
wearing the aero helmet backwards with rainbow colored music notes on his bag.

Shino has a custom black Kalavinka, with his name cast in the seat-stay tips.

You can see him in the middle of Jetsanchez's pic above.

half the events didnt happen. went velodrome which was closed. **** was a mess. 1 alleycat. polo didnt get announced in the awards, as well as goldsprints. two separate sides doing the event. barely any beer and the parties were lame. for my 1st worlds and second championship, im really disapointed.
