Did you see this 2004 Pista Concept on eBay!???

Holy Hell

I am witnessing a 2004 Pista Concept frameset (well everything except crankset and wheelset) selling for over $1500 on eBay with a day to go. If I have a lead on a complete one with Campy Record 165 crankset for $900, Am I insane not to it even if only to sell it on eBay for more? If I want a Pista Concept to RIDE, do I even want a 2004 because of a potentially fatigued aluminum frame? Is that even a real worry? Are people buying 2004 Concepts because theyre simply rare?

Because they are rare, and because they are black I think. . . I saw that also, its insane. I bid on it when it was around 600. If it truly has less then 500 miles on it like that guy says though, thats a really solid find, I would never spend over a grand, much less over 1.5 on that, but thats crazy if that guys isn't bull ****ting. I wouldn't touch it now though, that is outrageous, even for one of the most sexy bikes to ever exist. I got an 08 the other day to replace my ****ed 07, maybe if I can't sell the 07, I will get it painted and get some decals and con someone into buying a dented 04 instead of 07! JK JK.

not only that but the bids are annonymous for a reason. if you look at the bids its prob him on another account or a friend jus bumping up the price.

i honestly wouldnt sell or buy a concept new or used for more than 600

Yep, got my used one for a reasonable price, getting new one for 600, I wouldn't spend more just to have a Black one, or a more rare one, even though black on that bike is ****ing amazing. Although it is pretty hip central also, but ****, it is sexy. . . Also I might be crazy, but the tubes look smaller on those old ones, and I love me some over sized tubes.

Haha I bid on it at $400 and begged him to sell it to be before the auction ended for $750 LOL. The one I may pick up tomorrow is used more I'm sure but not beat. A few scratches/marks on the paint but structurally, no dents or cranks/fractures. At what point is a COMPLETE 2004 Pista Concept (w/ Campy Record Crankset), no longer worth paying $900 for it? If its solid but needs cosmetic work, I'm keeping it unless someone wants to pay $1500 for it LOL.

The bids arent anonymous. Theyre hidden. But I am skeptical of the "0" feedback guy bidding it up from $600. I had a guy bid up a car I was selling who had 0 feedback and I asked him if he was prepared to purchase the car since he bid it up over the reserve but had no previous feedback to back his bids. He stated "There is no way I'm going to buy this car. I will be kicked off of eBay before I pay you. Sorry". WTF!?

Hidden = "To help keep the eBay community safe, enhance bidder privacy, and protect our members from fraudulent emails, eBay has changed how User IDs display on the bid history page. Only you and the seller of the item can view your User ID, all other members will see anonymous user IDs, such as x***y."

i can't decide which is more ridiculous - people bidding 1500 on a Pista Concept frameset, or somebody asking 2500 for a Felt TK2.

Yeah, I know that TK2 belongs to somebody on this board.

Yeah, I called you ridiculous.

Really, what I look for in a bike that costs $2.5k is how well its wrapped in electrical tape. Nothing screams quality like tape and some sweet hellyer "peddles".

I don't even know how he priced that felt @ $2500 firm. Isn't a new tk2 complete something like 1400? With better components too.

Hahahahhahahaahahahahahahahaahahahahaahahaha

I gotta wonder how many pairs of "rare trainers", kid robot munny dolls, and pairs of shutter shades the d-bag who actually spent that much money on a middle of the road frame.

Its the color, Pista concepts are hard to find let alone in black, its supposed to be a "rare" color. I would f'king LOVE to own a Pista Concept but Ill be damned to the bowels of hell before I pay more than $600.00!

Lovin' the electrical tape customization too. I guess it was too "flashy" for his tastes or something. It looks much more subdued now...
