Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Pictures of your steamroller (the awesome thread)

This is apt to be the shortest thread in the forum, but what the hell. If I get to see a few good-looking Surlys, and, perhaps, get a few snide comments in the mix, I think it'll be worth it.

44:16 with 28c tires, it's about 74 gear inches.

My Merckx is 48:17 for the street [also about 74" with 23c tires] and 48:15 for the track.

Brooklyn Machine Works. It had to be custom because I needed a longer steerer than their stock forks.
