Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

is the stock fork 1" or 1 1/8"? Threaded or threadless? The alter stem is threadless with a 1" steer tube clamp so if your for is 1" and threadless youll be good

The Alter stem would look good on a large frame. Due to its bulkiness, it may not go well with a smallish frame.

I've got a NOS alter hanging around waiting for a build. Would like to track down a 120mm space girl pinup for it if anyone's got a lead...

got mine for free, looks kool, heavy and ****ty don't pay more than 20$ and yes, you need a quill stem for your kilo TT, ebay yourself a cool old chinelli or just get a nitto jaguar. Original MSRP over a 100$ anyone who had them was blowing them out and they still weren't moving

Couldn't agree more! Those stems are ugly as hell.

To the OP...how about trying to figure out the size on your own. A ruler? Verniers? Check size specs on websites? All you need to know is fork diameter and then pair it to a stem that has the same clamp diameter.

This forum is simply amazing for the number of non-cyclists it attracts who are far more concerned with getting the "coolest" stem or other part possible, but lack basic knowledge of bicycles. But, this isn't really anything new. I guess I'm just tired after a June/July/August run of new members with questions that are easily answered by a trip to the bike shop, asking a friend, or doing some research on your own.
