Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Fair price for a '07 Raleigh one way?

It's new at my LBS. They want $499. Is that about right? I could also get an '08 one way for about $650, are there component upgrades that would justify the price difference?

Not really, if it's the right size, grab the '07 and save some dough.

I'd totally do the '07 instead of the '08 with that kind of price difference.

Thanks. What month do the next year's models generally come out? Maybe I should wait and see what 09 looks like.

I think the only real difference, without searching or anything, between the 07 and 08 One Ways is the paintjob. My LBS is selling them (07) for $450, so I would say that it is a pretty fair price.

[EDIT] The 08 also features a pre-softened Brooks saddle with matching bar tape. Those are nice and all, but really, I wouldn't shell out $150 for those features if essentially the same thing is available to you for less.

Get the 07!
I have one and love it.
You do get a Brooks seat and cool green paint with 08, but not worth the $ difference if you ask me.
