Front Suspension on my Pine Mountain 29er

I just picked up my first SS Moutain Bike. It is a Pine Mountain 29er. I absolutely love it. I would however like to put front suspension on it. I am a Clydesdale, so that "weighs" into the decision. What is a good shock to put on this bike? Is it something I can do myself with limited experience? Thanks for the help.

Thanks.

Welcome.

This forum is much more fixed than ss despite what the name says. You might get better answers in the mountain biking section. (Or, maybe someone will give you good advice here, anything's possible)

The Reba Race is very popular, and the remote lockout is very convenient. It is a bit pricy though, usually about $550 online. I am planning on getting the White Brothers Magic for my Monocog, because the remote for the Reba won't mount on my drop bars.

White Brothers Magic29. 80mm., 100mm. 110mm. Depends on your style of riding. I am also a clyde and they are the best IMO.

Take Care,

PF

I have an old White Brothers so I haven't gotten to try the new magic valving, but I do hear its nice. But, I will say +1 for a RS Reba. I have a Race on my full suspension geared 29er and it is nice. The poploc remote is a great feature when the trail heads up! I am also a clyde btw. If you are willing to buy used you can find a used Reba Race for $300 or even under.

Great Info....

So I will try out a Reba Race. Where can I get a used one? How difficult is it to change out a rigid with a suspension fork? I appreciate the rapid responses!
