Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

how much is this bike worth?

i'm looking for a bike for my girlfriend who is 5'1". I found a 38-cm Schwinn Sprint Road Bike 10-Speed Lugged Steel on craigslist for $125. I may or may not convert it to a fixie. Not too familiar with the Schwinn Sprint. Is this a good quality schwinn or a cheapo one? How much should this bike be worth? Thanks for any help.

Definitely a cheapo. It may fit her, but you'll have to measure from her honey hole to the floor to be sure (this is your inseam, generally add an inch or two to it to find your working standover height.) Sadly, if you live in SF, you won't likely find much cheaper bikes, from what I understand of the SF bike scene in general. Some markets, like SF, even ***** on wheels goes for at least $100.
