    shipping prices

i am selling a frame on ebay, i called all my lbs's and they have all given me prices of 100- 130. last time i shipped a bike it was complete and i was charged 40 bucks. this was 8 years ago but still are prices that high now? how are sellers shipping frames for 30-40 bucks on ebay? how should i ship? or i could avoid the whole situation and someone could just trade me a 60-61 lugged steel frame for my 56 lugged torelli...just saying.

LBS is charging you for their time + materials to box and ship the frame
    do it yourself for $30-40.

no, you are right, what i am saying is i used to just let them do it and it was 40 dollars total. with shipping. now its insane, so when i look up shipping costs im getting prices from 75-150 dollars. i can get pretty cheap with fed ex but the closet drop off is an house away for some reason...

If you ship it yourself please don't remove the headset and fork. It won't save you any extra space. That **** is so annoying, especially when you get a bag of loose ball bearings and you have to repack the headset.

shippers are all by size now. if your just shipping a frame it shouldnt be that bad. just find/make yourself a really narrow box to fit the frame/fork. USPS is usually always going to be the CHEAPEST, followed by ups, and fedex. usually weight isnt a concern, but look at the cost of gas now. postage and shipping is surely going up too. maybe you could email them the frame. hah, if only it were that simple.

thanks. making a box might actually be the best idea. i figured it was the size of the box. it makes sense that shipping would be 3 times what it was a few years ago since, well, gas is 3 times what it was a few years ago.
