The Seagull Black Bag rocks. I had a race this morning and packed all my gear in it. The bag is pretty big, got all my gear in easily. Helmet, shoes, change of clothes, food, 2 water bottles heart rate monitor, gloves, arm warmers, tool kit, spare tubes(in case i had problems with the wheels on the bike and the ones in the wheel pit), big towel for changing, keys, wallet and phone. All with room to spare. Gonna unpack it now and head off to the grocery store. The strap is super comfortable and i love the ease of operation for adjusting it. My only gripe is where the U lock holder falls. With the bag nice and tight on my back and with the stabilizer strap in a comfortable position the slot for the lock falls on my shoulder and is pretty uncomfortable. Good this there is plenty of room in the bag for the lock! I will post pictures later today after i recover from my race.

I can't wait to get mine! I've been using my "Kemmer" bag since February, but when I used my friend's black bag and how wonderful that strap was, I was sold.

The bag is built to last, that's for sure. The stitching looks pretty tough. It's not the prettiest stitch work in the world but the bags are all handmade so you can't expect perfection. Overall it is a badass bag that has one of most comfortable and easiest to use straps ever.

I just got mine as well and love everything but the Ulock holster. Positioning is killer on your shoulder. I did find that you could put the stabilizer strap on the section above the holster and it moved the ulock down a little.

it looks good (on the website), but what makes this bag any different or better than a chrome bag? have you guys had both? i've only had chrome and now an orlieb. i need another one now. these are only $95.

price is definitely a plus and so is customer service. I like the simplicity of the bag, not to flashy. I haven't had a chrome but i looked at one before i ordered my black bag and decided against it. You also get a lot more bag for your buck with the black bag.

Well as I've stated many times on this site and others, the black bag is great. I would say that it is better than a chrome, but I might just be biased because I've never rocked a chrome bag. I got mine with the first batch and the only issue I have with the bag is the tightening and loosening of the strap. If you have it tightened all the way down you are left with a ton of loose strap to manage. Granted, that's only as hard as tucking the strap around itself but sometimes it bothers me.

I've had mine since the first batch as well, and it's been amazing.

The solution that I've found to the strap length is to tuck just the D-ring under that small loop that is on the strap, then all of the excess just doubles over itself and hangs around the middle of my chest. That may sound confusing, but it's really not, and it keeps the excess out of the way for me.

I use the u-lock holster almost exclusively, and it seems to me that if the u-lock is resting on your shoulder, the bag should be a little tighter. I guess I may just wear my bag really tight, as the lock is usually sitting right over the left side of my chest. If the bag is really loaded down, that position gets uncomfortable, but in these cases I'll just tuck the lock in the back of my pants.
