Good Online Bike Stores
I'm interested in getting a Windsor The Hour but only bikesdirect has them and they don't even have my size (50-52cm). Are there any good other good online bike stores?

The Dawes SST is only $30 more but is a really great bike for the money. I love mine...it's got a little better wheelset than the hour. They should have your size too.

i was looking for the same thing. I want to get a nice bike for a friend and I think that the hour seems to be a what I'm looking for in the price range. I have read the threads about the comparisons with the Fuji and the Bianchi Pista but for someone who has not ridden a bike for a while and will most likely not be modifying or really using it to push its limits, the Hour seems to be a good choice.
I might even put on a freewheel so that she won't eat it, not really having any experience or interest in a fixie.
Does BD usually restock these bikes? Any other info or opinions from you all?

i asked bikesdirect and they told me they're going to have more sizez in stock in september.
if you want to wait like me, you'd probably save alot more money than buying it from a different site.

In fact, if it were not for the increased bike demand driven by oil prices, all our SS/FG would be in now. However, the entire industry is running late due to increased world-wide demand for bikes.
We have lots of SS/FG bikes shipping now and arriving in about 4 to 6 weeks.
This includes new models Like the
WINDSOR CLOCKWORK [which is an hour with brakes]
Moto Fantom Cross Uno [single speed cross bike]
Dawes SST-AL [polished aluminum SS]
Dawes MTA [budget SS at under $300 with brakes]
Mercier Kilo TT Pro
and more of the existing models {SST, HOUR, MESSENGER, KILO TT} all on the way
September thru December is a time when lots of Single Speed / Fixed Gear bikes sell. Not only do lots of college students buy these; but also lots of other cyclists buy SS/FG for fall training and commuting. Plus everyone in general seems to be finding out how fun these bikes are! We hope to have 10 models to choice from all the time.

I got a Dawes SST about a month ago, and I flippin' love it. They don't have your size in the dark green? It'd be worth waiting, if you have the time and patience. Here's a post I put up about repainting mine. Once you get some new tires on there, it's a zippy ride, no question.

Don't forget your LBS buddies. Even though you may have to pay more up front, a good LBS will help you get the right stuff the first time and they will be there when you need them.
So, enough preaching. Jump on your current junker bike and roll down to that lonely LBS guy or gal.

Bikes direct/bike island always ship the wrong thing or incomplete orders to me.
And yeah, go with you LBS, it may cost a bit more but they'll like you better and when you need something done or some tools to borrow, they'll be there for you.
