Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Soo.... the road forum...

I thought I stir up some trouble with a post or two.

Turns out they are completely oblivious to our style of wit. Hmmph.

Conversion question!

They just don't get it. I thought the anodized part gave it away.

Looks like they made an honest effort to help you out at first and then played along with your gag. They have a sense of humor there too.

See, it's all in good fun. I'm surprised I got an infraction. No one in that thread even got close to being offended. But then Brianforums is biased against SSFG guys.

Tom, long time no see! How you be?

also... trolling the roadie forum is ********.

Wait. What other forum?

And I didn't crash my pista. A girl crashed into me and my pista was the victim. Oh well. It's just a possession. In any case, wasn't trolling. Was making a joke. No one got bent out of shape until AFTER I recieved my little badge... I mean infraction.

There is nothing wrong with gears. And you're displaying that elitist attitude that everyone hates about fixed gear riders.

Get a clue.

It seems to me that, for the most part, they made a sincere, constructive attempt to answer a question. I think a dose of that is in order here...

yeah that just sounded like an ill informed hipster (not to throw around that word lightly) looking for advice. Plus a lot of roadies ride fixed, whether because they just like bikes, train on them, or use them to ride like everyother fixed rider. but in the spirit of fun...

disapointing.

i love the look of small chrome pistas. would be cool to put a nexus hub on it. not that it'd fit.
