Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Try the manufacturer's specs or e-mailing Bianchi. why would
you trust the opinion of a bunch of random people
on a web forum? I mean if you are really worried, don't you
want engineering data and specs not hearsay?

Try to get hard data. Now that I have suggested
not to listen to us let me suggest that overall the
failure characteristics of steel vs. carbon and aluminum
are usually different. Most people say that steel
doesn't fail catastrophically because it has more
than one flex cycle. Aluminum and carbon
are more likely to fail catastrophically. Not that
they can't be designed for big dudes.
