it is a bad idea. your bikes shouldn't overlap.

i usually do long distance rides and commute. like if i get a second iro its cause i want a pretty bike, also it has hook ups for a rear rack pannier.

i would like to do some racing, but that would require a real road bike...

1. buy new IRO that you think is pretty and has easy rear rack options.
2. sell your current IRO.
3. buy geared road bike for racing.
4. ...
5. profit

Yes, it is a horrible idea. Owning two IRO bicycles signals the start of the apocalypse, which is in accordance with prophecy.

...

*shaking head* Dude, what a silly question. If you want a second IRO, buy a second IRO. If you want a road bike, buy a road bike. A bunch of slackers on an internet forum can't tell you what's best for you any more than they can agree on risers vs. bullhorns vs. drops, brakes vs. brakeless, or any other of the 1000 or so topics that rotate through here regularly.

nothing wrong with wanting multiple bikes. why not try something new on your second bike? I have 2 track bikes (one for racing, one is a rain/beater bike) and a road bike. I want a 4th bike soon.

So not only are you spelling and grammar challenged, but you can't read either? Sad, sad, sad.

I never asked if mixtes were gay; mixtes in and of themselves do not have a sexual orientation, being inanimate objects and all. They're bicycles, not people.

Or... perhaps you're expressing your own insecurity with your own sexuality onto bicycles as a coping mechanism? Hmm, that explains quite a bit.

You guys gonna just get a room and get this flirting over and done with already? Heyzeus....

Also, get your second IRO if that's what you want OP - nothing wrong with it. I also wouldn't mind another one (Mark V or JR) but I've got to try and build a touring rig up first... oh, and I want a new road bike too. Turds to financial restriction!

yeah i think i will do that, though i really want a road bike too, but... i guess that can wait till next spring, i dont enjoy riding long distance during winter... (not a big fan of the cold)

though i think im going to get a carbon fork on this jamie roy and my mark v is hating me for bring it to denmark, ive had to ride through the rain twice so far... (10mile and 30mile trips) and then someone moved it from my gf apartment stairwell to the outside and it poured on it and they scratched it! :/

Ask them to put the decals on backwards. That way you'll have a black IRO and a white ORI. That'd be Two-Face as ****.
