Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

yup, E-bay.
lots of hoops on the cheap.
check the online stores for rims that are
close outs etc. I've seen old campy rims
and old mavic rims really cheap.

I was just looking at them over at Alfred E. Bike.com... I was wondering if they were any good... I'd really like some black rims... I don;t wanna spend more than $30-40 on hoops... this is for my beater fixie project... so I don't need it costing more than my Regualr Roadie

thanks

I have the alex adventurer rims on my single speed cross check. They
seem like good beefy rims. Quite wide, so you wouldn't want to run skinny
tires on them (I've tried and they pinch flat too easy). I got the rims from
AE Bike, too. Service was good.
