Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Looking for bullhorns

I'm replacing the Ritchey Comp drop bar on my Jamis Sputnik.

I am looking for a bullhorn bar that has a similar finish. Sort of a black medium-low gloss eggshell look.

What brands should I look for?
Where is the best resource to buy them?

Does Nitto have a website with an official list of their products? I can only find Nitto tires

syntace and profile make some cowhorn bars, which are like bullhorns but are longer and have more of a drop in them.

Maybe chop and flop the bars your currently rocking, it would be cheaper, and deffinatly the same finish.

I looked at doing that but the reach on my current drop bar is really pretty short. I need to stop into the bike shops and see if there's an old pair of bars I can buy for a few bucks and play around with.

I like the that one and I thought about getting one with a slight drop to it... but is there a way to put a brake lever on it?

If your lever is hinged, i don't see why not. As long is the hinge matches the clamp size. I was even able to slip a Paul E-lever on these type bars once.

black = color
medium-low gloss = sheen
eggshell = texture

I've got a pretty long stem now, 120mm. I'm a little dragged out on a bullhorn vs. my short drop bar.

I think that drop cowhorn bar on a shorter stem... I could angle the bar upward a little bit so it's more ergo on my wrists. bangin.

keep the ideas coming!

eggshell is a texture? I thought eggshell typically means an off-white color.

whatever...dude just wants some black bullhorns - there's no way I could help him find something as rare and hard to find as that. although I could hook him up with some sweet nitto NJS tires, but sounds like he's got that covered already.

Yup. eggshell can be a texture. It's between flat and medium gloss, if you were shopping for house paint.

I was also looking for a Nitto website, but there doesn't seem to be one.

Guys I'm in a tossup between the Syntace Stratos 200 and Profile Aerowing. . . going to pull the trigger soon because my risers are just killing me in headwinds. Priorities are lightweight, no carbon, and a slight drop. Any more suggestions??

Profile Airwing. Comfiest bullhorns I've ever used. They feel good on my wrists whether I've got a lot of saddle to bar drop or not.
