Bike Stand

Anyone have a recomendation of what would be a good free standing bike rack/stand? Something to hold 2 bikes indoors. I have suicidal cats so the stand has to be extremely sturdy as I would hate to come home and find one of my cats squished by a bike they knocked off the stand. Thoughts?

I've got this one, holds two bikes and since the pole adheres to floor and ceiling your cats won't get killed:

Has anyone used the Dual Touch long term and had any problems? I've read a few reviews and find it hard to trust this stand. Apparently the tension produced by the bar is not enough to keep it from slowly getting loose and eventually falling over. And if you increase the tension to make it nice and tight, the vertical bar begins to bow.

Right now I'm thinking of either a freestanding or gravity type stand. But I like the idea behind the Dual Touch.

I live in an apartment with studs behind walls in all the wrong locations. So I need something like the Topeak stand or the one in the photo above. Just wanted to get some feedback on the Topeak as it seems like a good idea and the company makes good products. It's the reviews I've read that scare me.

but, seriously, I have no idea how well these perform.

i have one of theses. it rocks a lot but doesn't fall over, I've tried. but i don't like it. stay away from it if you come across it in your travels, even though you can pick one up for like $35 shipped.

a friend of mine has it. He lived with me for awhile and left it at my house when he moved back into his dorm(didn't have room for it) and i still have it. It didn't work well in my old house because of the really shoddy construction in the room i was using it. I've had it in my basement at the new house for the month and a half i've lived here. Its help up my two bikes just fine and for about 2 weeks it held up my roommates gas pipe road bike.

DIY with PVC pipe. Total cost was under $20 and I had a lot of leftover pipe and elbows.
