Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

my new singlespeed!!!!

https://www.tyrodot.com/siss.jpg

Added a second horse to the stable recently.....been riding my fixie Bianchi Pista for almost a year....took a few miles to get used to the 32x16 gears, fattie knobbies, and Avid disc brakes!!

made my first commute today..14 miles or so round trip..I am hurtin'!!

guess it didn't help that my tires were a measley 35 PSI...Ill have to bump that up for commuting, and lower again for..hmm..trials?? singletrack?? hehehe..

whats up with the wind today in chi-town? wasn't it supposed to be warmer and nice?? sheesh!!

randy

That looks like a monster for communting. Why not switch out the knobbies for some slicks?

Yea! No s##t! I had my first commuting ride this morning and it was raining or at least misting despite the damn Chicago forecaster's report.

Nevertheless, rolling in my new DeBernardi I enjoyed a smooth ride when compared to my Gary Fisher.

Was also my first SS commute and it was great! even if my front tire rubbed and I had to clean off tire shavings when I got to work!
