That's not bad considering a swallow or a swift cost 3 times more. It sure beats buying a B17 and chopping it up.

Yes, on numerous occasions without a single trouble. They are a nice alternative for that Rivendellish type stuff.

+1 on ordering from them, and it also said the rails are longer which is definately an issue with Brooks.

I remember reading on the blog that the VO guy wasn't happy with the leather on the saddles. I'm not sure if it's that version or an other one, but you know, caveat emptor.

I think it was the other models that had issues (there were a bunch - a b17 model and sprung one, if I remember correctly), which he offered refunds on and is no longer selling. My guess is that this one model was fine but he's wanting to get rid of them to make room for the new line. I would take a chance on it if I was looking for a saddle; I'm sure if it blows up he'll give a refund.

The issue wasn't with the 6.

Yeah, the owner goes through a lot of prototypes and reports on them in his blog before he settles on the final product.

The saddles look good to me and when I'm getting close to finishing up another bike build I believe I'll order one. Swallow style for B-17 price, not bad.

How is this a B-17 price? I bought a Team Pro for less than that.

Recently, I bought a Brooks B-17, from Nashbar, for $54 and change. On sale, plus a 20% coupon.

It will probably be there again......

why not try it out and see? not many know since they are a pretty small operation so not many have ridden them.

but they are reputable and quick with shipping and answering questions.

I'll bite. I was planning on picking up a Regal sooner or later anyway. This model 6 seems like a deal so I ordered the black. Hopefully I'll see it in a few days.

Rolls and Brooks (well, b17s; never tried a Team Pro) are different in almost every way - the curved shell shape of the Rolls murders my body, while Brookses are flat and giving since there is no shell. I guess it kind of depends on what you like.

the VO is interesting in that improves upon most of the brooks' traditional deficits (except for the weight, I'd reckon). Plus the Team Pro is $300.

brooks raised their prices by ~30% across the board about 3 weeks ago.
