Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Is the forward sloping toptube just for looks, or is there some functionality behind it? I think it would have looked much nicer with a dead horizontal top tube. Not that I know crap about frame design, but logic kinda suggests to me that the taller rear triangle would make the rear end less stiff.

does anybody know an equation to figure what the stand over height? I'm looking at a bunch of track bikes' geo for my bike next season and they all see alot smaller than a road bike of the equal size, is this normal. I really like this framset and am looking at getting it.

does anybody have a pic of the 58cm?

Please confirm it's 300$ cheaperthen the vig, with the similar and same tube set. There are 300 produced at this point, and they continue to make 100 per month. Both colors (grey or green) will be avail for 2010. Thanks for the interest.

If you look on their site and watch their video, you'd realize that they're not just your everyday hipsters who can pull a few skids and barspins.
If what you see doesn't impress you that's your opinion. Sure, they run red lights and weave between cars. But they also pull huge skids, wheelies, bunnyhops, ride backwards, etc.
So maybe you need to go out and try that stuff so you realize how "easy" they are to do. They also seem to enjoy what they are doing, not for profit, not for fame, but just for f*cks and giggles.
Plus they're probably much more fit and faster than you and me. And if they can organize a local group, make themselves internationally known, take miles upon miles in a tour on a fixie, AND sign a contract with Cinelli just for that reason, I'd have to say, they're not too shabby for a couple of "emo kids/hipsters".
