My Schwinn Traveler, and my roommates Bianchi
both bikes are fixed gear, conversions-
ok, after having this bike for almost a year, I decided to post a couple pics of it-
I still need to :
get a new front tire
get better pedals/clips
possibly a new crank?
better brake lever (i took it from my bmx bike)
it has a selle italia sprint seat, and 27inch cr18 sunrims wheels-
I am looking to add a little more "flavor" to this bike-
I really was trying to find some grey tires, but they dont make anything for 27inch wheels of course-
as far as handlebars, I went with these with the ourys, to road bike drop bars, back to risers with some random brown grips, and then back to the ourys-
if anyone has any comments, criticisms about it- feel free to tell me.
-I also have another identical schwinn traveler in a bit larger frame that I got cheap and re-painted (ill post it later)
oh. and my roommates bike.... he got ***** on the parts he put on it (got a shop to put it together), its nice but he has crank issues and pedal issues often.

I like the Schwinn a lot. Nice frame. Perfect conversion candidate. I'd spring for an aluminum seatpost. Makes the whole bike look more official.

Yeah, it's less weight. And looks better. It's not-picky and doesn't add much performance-wise. It should say on your current seatpost what size it is. You HAVE to get the size right. An upgrade will be seat & post in one unit. If it's not on your current seatpost, a bike shop can measure it. And sell you something like this:
https://www.jensonusa.com/store/produ...+Seatpost.aspx
(New brake pads, or a dual pivot brake would be your best bang for your buck. If you use your brake. Or non-plastic pedals.)

sneaky viking: thanks for the info- I will get one when I get a chance-
patrick8037:he was actually contemplating the idea of selling it-
i always try and convice him not to-
he got the frame on ebay (within the last second of the auction) I think for like 200 or 300 for the frame?
I think he might of over paid but he likes it

That Bianchi is a ****ing travesty. Please throw some proper road components back on it and ride it as it was meant to be. At least you didn't pull the cable guides off.

his pedals have screwed in too much into the crank arm, or get loose often-
he also has put his pedals in crooked before which is causing a problem-
his crank arms sometimes dont sit right on the tapered peices and get ****ed up-
where as I havnt had any of those problems... knock on wood.
as far as his seat- its some no name seat he got on ebay for $20 bills w/ titanium rails...
I agree, I think his frame is too nice to be ridden as a conversion, but I doubt he would listen to me.

if he got his **** assembled at a shop and they screwed up the threads on his crank take it back and *****. If he was the one that screwed up the threads then that sucks for him.

Yeah, if he got screwed on the parts and had a shop put it together, he could at least take advantage of the one positive: they should stand behind their work.
