Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

chairing clearance

riding a san jose, stock 42t chainring on sugino xd. 42mm chainline at cranks (110 spindle) and rear cog. wanting to put on a 46t ring, but worried that it might not clear the chainstays. does anyone else with a sj know if a 46t will clear in the inner crank position? i've got a sram cross crankset with a 46t that i want to put on but worried about scratching the chainstay. if i put the 46t on the outside position, is there a way to fix the chainline in the rear? tia.
