How thick spokes fits for a Phil hub?

Hi,

I was wondering how thick spokes a Phil Wood hub can take?
On their website it says Spoke Hole Diameter (mm) 67.0

This looks kind of cool:

67mm = 6.7cm dude that's massive for a spokes.. and it is too short to define the lenght of the spokes.
May be u mean 6.7mm??

BTW I think the hubs is Velocity (Formula) hubs, with slotted insertion for the bladed shape.

You know that 67mm ~ 2.64inch right? A Volocity Deep V rim is about 30mm ~ 1.18inch high

"Spoke Hole Diameter" mmmh is not the diameter of the little hole but the diameter between one hole to the opposite hole...

Thickness of the spokes can't be 67mm tho...they measure in guages.

I'm searching for how thick spokes I can but into a Phil Wood hub, so it's those 28/32/36 little holes on the hub I'm thinking of

Anyone who knows there to get some spokes like these:

i don't know the answer. he posted that the phil wood website gave a specification. so why the hell would you ask if the manufacturer already tells you? think a bunch of jerkoffs on BF know better?

malke, you're looking at the spoke blades. i don't know **** about wheel building, but you're asking the wrong question i think.

Normally I use DT Champion which is 14guage ...

But I am sure you cannot put a bladed spokes into a normal spoke holes on the hub, unless u slotted the hole. I think PW does the slotting if you request them to??(Not 100% sure) But you can always try Hoshi Bladed Spokes..

Have a look at the site...https://www.businesscycles.com/thub-phil.htm
TOP pic = hole without slotting for non blade spokes
BOTTOM pic = hole with slotting for blade spokes

May I draw your attention to the description...I hope that will help you solve your question and queries.

Okay, I see.
So if I want to put blade spokes on a Phil hub, I need to order a costum made hub, with special drilled holes for blade spokes?

What I meant was that 67.0mm couldn't possible be the answer I was looking for! What I was looking for was tha diameter of the holes where you put i spokes in which I've never seen a 67mm thick spoke!

If you don't know anything about it, why even answer?

Maybe I didn't made my question clear, my bad

Why don't you contact PW for a definitive answer?

you can put a 2.3mm bladed spoke(example=Sapim CX Ray)anything larger will need to be slotted.

Since you like fast answers: www.google.com

If you bladed spokes like the above pictured ones, the hub will have to be slotted. Sapim cx-ray and other oval "aero" spokes don't require slotting the hub which means they don't look bladed if you look at it more than a meter away.

Both of the wheels pictured above would require a slotted hub. I am completely interested in exactly what those spokes are. I've been looking high and low for spokes that require slotted hubs and they seem to have gone the way of the dinosaurs in favour of spokes like the cxrays or dt aerospeed/lites.

Way to go SSFG for producing 13 irrelevant, useless and incorrect posts before soil sampler.

No actually, they don't. Guages is outdated, deprecated and idiotic way of referring to spokes diameters.

Again, wrong. There are bladed spokes designed specifically for nonslotted hubs. Which is nearly every "aero" spoke on the current market.

Normal straight gauge DT stainless spokes are 2.0mm which nearly every single hub on the planet will take.

The second picture is a Vuelta Starlite, as far I could find out..

The first is from here: https://www.boxdogbikes.com/blog/?p=52
It's a handbuilded wheel, so they should know what spokes it is.. but I can only find a phone-number for them.
