Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Good buy?

Saw this on craigslist and it seems like a much better buy than buying the components to convert an old lotus frame that I already have. I just started riding again this summer, but this seem like basically what I would want at the end of the process except at a cheaper price. Thanks in advance for the input.

The price and the gearing both seem a little steep. I have seen lots of conversions listed around that price, I just don't know if they are actually selling.

I'd rather ride a brand new bikesdirect bike for about the same price.
