So who's ridden a carbon fibre bike

It is ****ing incredible. Just rode a full carbon fixie. Rides like really, really good steel, and accelerates like a GSXR. For the first time, I have begun to consider getting a helmet!

i've ridden one of these, was about $14,000 (no i didn't add an extra 0 by accident)

freakin nuts, so stiff but feels like plastic (weight-wise) weighed a hair over 10lbs. imagine how light it would be if they stripped off all the gears/etc.

i've never ridden a really nice steel frame though, so i only know it in comparison to my midrange steel/alum experiences

Might be dumb question, but kinda rims are those? The black won't get rubbed off eventually by the brakes?

They are also carbon, not anodized AL. They use special pads, often made of cork.

^ i don't know, actually. storck custom builds their bikes with whatever componentry the customer desires, with their suggestions of course. the bike i rode had some carbon zipps on it.

Photo of our custom c/f tandem. Currently 22,000 miles on the odo.
Yup, you can hear folks talk about carbon; but the proof's in the riding!

Holy cow! That's a thing of beauty....

have ridden 2 one full carbon which was amazing, and one with carbon fork which felt really awful. both fast as all hell.

Very nice looking tandem!

I ride a full carbon roadie, and it is so so nice for acceleration. It goes like a rocket. Even though it's a larger frame (59cm) it's still just about 16lbs and is way fun to ride!

I also ride a full carbon roadie. fuji team 07 with ultegra. right now it sits at just under 17.5 pounds, mainly due to the wheel set but that should be upgraded soon. maybe tommorow. from my experiences it can really smooth out a road but if the road is **** then it will be even more noticable.

OP, what did you ride?
GanWell?
