Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Idea on value of KHS track bike

A friend of a friend has a mint KHS Track Aero (54cm) and is considering selling it. It's all original and hardly been ridden. It has a curved seat tube and a blue to purple fade paint job. Any idea on what it's worth? I couldn't find any information about it online other than a few pics on Google images.

I'm not sure about the parts being stock or aftermarket. Based on that link (thanks by the way) it sounds like it's a '97 with the blue/purple paint. Here are a couple pics:

I realize the bike is worth whatever someone is willing to pay but is there a general price range this would fit in? I've seen so many bikes way overpriced these days it's hard to get a realistic idea. C-List has some horrible conversions being listed for $400+. They're probably not selling for that but these used to go for $200-250 not long ago.

i could get a brand new SE Draft for $250...but that's Hi-Tensile steel...your friend's friend's KHS Aero is chromoly...plus KHS no longer offers that frame...don't short-change that...i would pay at least $320 for that bike...i'm basing that off the fact that people will pay that much for just a frameset...plus i own a KHS and i love mine...

That silver KHS looks great. I love the black front end. I'm guessing the value of the one in question to be around $400 so I'll see what they're trying to get for it. Thanks for the replies.
