my friend's new frame.
a friend of mine from boston was looking into getting a benotto through spicer. apparently, the benottos are no longer availible, so she's getting a custom spicer instead! she's been emailing me with questions about components and geometries and even pain schemes and everything and the frame is now finished and here is her new ride! i'm SOOOO JEALOUS!

Careful on the Spicers for street riding. I have heard from a few peeps in here that the rear forks crack as well as the welds near the BB. .(Aluminium frames only, heard nothing on the steel ones)

I've seen that happen as well, although in Gene's defense he has been good about replacing them from what I have heard. Also, it might not even be an issue being that it's a female riding it and maybe she will take it easier.. (I'm assuming here but whatever..)

When I've seen guys riding fixies on the road, many of them slow down by weight shifting onto the front wheel, and slamming the rear down in a semi skid like manoevre, right?.
On an Aluminium frame, thats like watching something whither and die right before your eyes. *mumbles something about how cool steel is*

The same color as my Cyclocross! Actually mine is "Charger Orange" but I assume it's a reference to the general lee because that was a Dodge Charger. Tell your friend that Fall Foliage makes a wonderful backdrop for taking pretty pictures of the bike when she gets it built up.

will do, MKRG, although i'm not sure how much fall foliage she's gonna see in boston (commons and public gardens aside).
i found out that she's putting all silver parts on it, she's going for a silver salsa stem, and she already has dura ace hubs on cxp33s, and i believe she's getting sugnio75 cranks, i'm not sure what headset she's getting, celeste green bartape on her bullhorns. i can't imagine what on earth would posess her to mix those two colors...nauseating mint green (that's what celeste translates to, btw) and that orange color are certainly going to look...interesting together.
it's a major upgrade from her fuji track that she's been thrashing for two years. plus, she told me that i get "visiting rights" if i ever make it back around that way again, even though i think it's wicked tall for me...

Bianchi green and orange? A bit more advice is it order I think, like 'put white bar tape on it, for the love of god!'
