Langster as 1st fixed gear?
I was thinking about picking up a Langster Boston as my first fixed gear. It would cost me $500, is that a reasonable price for a used bike that is in virtually perfect condition? I also have the option of buying a used Bianchi Fremont for $380, is that a good buy? The Fremont is in pretty good condition there are some scratches on the frame though. thanks.

I own a Langster Comp and If I only had $500 or less, I'd buy a Mercier Kilo TT Pro or something comparable instead LOL. I dont hate the standard Langsters but there are nicer bikes out there. I LOVE the aluminum. It's not like most aluminum frames. I happened to get mine for a smoking deal since my buddy is the manager of a bike shop. The Freemont is actually a really nice aluminum bike with a carbon fork too. If you can find it used and clean for $380, that is a wonderful bike. Is it your size?

Langster was my first fixed gear bike, and I still have it. I think Im going on a little over 2 years now. My friends w/ NJS bikes talk ****, but its a great bike IMO. However, mine is a 05, so it has diff geo and more subdued paint/branding than yours. Try and ride both bikes and get which ever is more comfortable. Less fashion more function.
