i don't have a problem with the white rim and white tire combo, i just don't like the miss match tires. It would be better with either two black tires or two white tires. I think i might actually prefer two whites.

I wasn't sure if you knew, that's all.

I have a dirty rump too. I don't wear white briefs or use white saddles for that reason. I understand the risks of doing so.
And I'm just not a risky guy. You know: no more than 3 eggs a week, dentist twice a year, left right left before crossing, etc.

I'd been wondering about those visp frames for a while. They seem to be decently priced. Is it heavy?
Bike looks good. Interesting with the aero bars. Never was a fan of the excessive decals in those visp frames. I'd be more inclined to get one if it was stripped.

Anyhooooooooo... Haven't officially posted the bike for criticism since I put on the new stem and drops.

Have at it:

Yes, very heavy, over 6 lbs frame + fork. I think they used thick straight gage (non-butted) tubing and the steerer tube on mine is steel. Figure on a complete build being over 20 lbs. The weight doesn't bother me as I'm mostly riding it at a constant speed, and the only time I'm even aware of the weight is when climbing a hill. As for the decals, they are currently selling a stripper versions without decals in matt black (same as mine) and white with an aluminum steerer.

NateRod, I really like the green. If I had to come up with something, I would say the bars look huge on the bike and you need a better blinkie but all in all, it looks like something I would build so props to you.

EDIT: one more thing and this is a little one. Get some black valve caps. The red ones with the green make me think christmas.

I go through waves of loving the green at times and sort of hating it at others. I may eventually get some other rims to change it up a bit

Maybe the bars look big because the frame itself is small-ish? (51 cm). I do like the way the drops feel when riding. Actually feel much better than the bullhorns i was using before. Maybe habit, since my previous bike was an old road bike.

When you say blinkie, are you talking about the knog lights? I got them for cheap and i liked that they're small and easy to remove / put back on but I know they're not exactly the brightest. I might plan on getting some other lights soon.

And I hadn't thought of this before, but now that you mention it, the valve caps do make it look kind of christmassy... which I hate.

Thanks for the feedback!

really? i'm terrible with my arm scale then. my friend brought in his and it didn't feel that heavy. felt like 4.5-5 lbs

EDIT (not really, i just remembered right now) that was sans fork. yeah they're heavy for aluminum. they also didn't take the ss track end plates into account and you have to spread slightly to get your 120 hub in (feels bad man on alu).

oh and my friend's seatpost ended up being 27.4 according to the micrometer in the shop when the 27.2 had some play. he ended up just using a 27.2 but shows the quality control is lacking.

not a bad entry bike atmo. he was coming from a motomess, so it seemed more lateral than upgrade. whatevs

Me too. Could never get the 27.2 post tight, kept slipping down during rides Finally, just bit the bullet and got a 27.4 Kalloy that fits perfectly.

About the SS rear dropout inserts, did you tighten all the screws than attach them to the frame? Once I did that the rear wheel cleared properly. Also, the adjuster screws were binding on mine cuz the holes were tapped crooked and they didn't fit in the holes in the inserts. My solution was to remove the inserts and drill out the holes so the screws would clear.

So yeah, there are definitely some QA issues, but overall the frame is very well made and seems pretty indestructable.

yeah it seems like a solid frame, and he's not tracking it so it's proper for him.

i think we just pulled the adjusting screws lol. i'll tell him to check the plates, there might be a gap from it binding or something.

the only thing that really bothers me is the 27.4 seatpost that's listed as 27.2 on the ebay auctions. PITD for those ****ers

it's best to do rear braking in the snow, using the front could cause a lock up easier. washing out on the front sucks.

plus, he's probably not going to go that fast in the snow. use of just backpressure in low traction conditions is probably safer, or at least not as bad as it initially sounds

Ok, finally got this pretty close to how I want it, but may still play with handle bars options, a better front brake, and maybe clipless eventually.
Curious to hear and comments, criticisms, etc.
THANKS!
