Boney Butt Bros

...is not the name of the new porno i'm starring in.

but srzly, i got a new B-17 narrow today, and though it's possibly positioned wrong (kind of doubt it), it hurts my ass like i'm riding on a plank of wood. :\ i'm 5'7" / 125 lb., with a definite boney ass. i'm wondering if any other skinny people have had problems breaking these in or whatever.

gimme some advice cuz this thing looks so f ucking nice, i just want it to feel good on my bum. about where should my butt bones be on top of?

I think they break in a little bit more with each ride. Give it some more time and you may love it.

It takes several weeks of riding before a Brooks even begins to break in. Patience.

Yeah, I mean I took it out for about 15 miles today, and it still feels like a rock on my ass, but I'll see how it goes in time

mine took about 150 miles plus getting it wet (on accident) to break it in. it's going to take you a while, each ride will hurt less and less until you forget you're sitting on a saddle.

Just wondering how much you guys weigh... I feel like it would break in faster under more weight

i'm 170 but it doesn't really matter how much you weigh, it's based on mileage/time you have on the saddle that breaks it in. the more you ride the more it contours and it's around the 150-200 mile marker, don't rush it or try to soften it you'll regret it; they are meant to stay hard and if they aren't they will sag or 'hammock' and will not have the same longevity as a properly broken in brooks.

I'm about the same size (5'7", 130 lbs). It really does just take time. You have to have a little patience with a Brooks. I've put about 800-900 miles on mine, and it feels really good right now. Expect to spend at least a few weeks on the saddle before it starts to feel right (depending on how much you ride). Proofride it too. Like someone said above, a Brooks is supposed to provide support for your ass, not a hammock for it to swing in.
