I run double pake straps.
They never slip on me.
Glad I didn't drop the cash for more expensive leather doubles.
Every thing the Toshi peeps rave about I can say about the pakes.
I also use soma quad gates. But will probably get plastic cages next time around, I'm tired of having to bend my cages back every day.

although you can rave about your pake straps, there are just as many people (or more for that matter) who complain about the soma, pake, nylon straps.
i dont think i've ran into anyone who has said any of the negative things said about the soma,pake,nylon straps about toshis...
i have literally held week-old somas (saw no rain)...where they synthetic divorced from the middle nylon

thanks for all the help guys. i havent really made a decision yet... i have a little bit since i'm getting the gr-9s and cages for christmas.. but right now i'm thinking about tryign the doubles from king kog

Haven't tried any of the other pedals mentioned here, but I'm totally thrilled with the MKS pedals.

do not buy leather. Bought leather straps and they only lasted about 4-5 months, compared to my old nylon straps that came standard with my bike which lasted 9+ months.

Buy leather. My first leather straps lasted 30 years. My next pair (from the same era) are still going strong. I'm hoping the new ones (a mere three years old) will do something similar.

MKS are good pedals, even if they're still a bit small for my feet - I use the Urbans, which are quite a bit wider than the GR-9s, but my feet have got considerably wider over the years, something I believe is fairly common. Good pedals at good prices though.

All straps are not created equal. I use leather straps to stop the front wheel flapping about when the bike is on the car carrier. I bought two cheap sets. Of the four straps, two work nicely, one is a temperamental sod and the fourth went into the recycling bin.
Yeah. But good quality, it costs but it lasts.
Nylon? They work. I can't really complain about the nylon straps I've had but I prefer leather - they feel better and look nicer (maybe I am a bike snob afterall)

synthetic leather with nylon cores have been holding up better than my leather straps, have the looks, and no dead cows.
