Jury fits bigger tires. Kilo, not so much. Jury has odd rear brake reach.

It needs braze-ons for cantilever or V-brakes. Who wants a big-tire bike with caliper brakes? Another BD cluster**** of a frameset.

Any how many others buying a $200 frame LOVE that a decent HS is already installed? One less cost associated with buying the Jury and one less tool to buy.

The FSA Orbit is a nice HS. No CK, but decent to nice.

then its the frame for you. personally, i like to choose my own componants and i alway buy the same headset - cane creek S6. its the one i like for the price. i wouldn't buy a frame that came w/ parts on it already. i never have done that. all my bikes have been 100% built up by me. but, fine if you like it. i just don't agree.

I am the same way, I biuld my own bikes and specs. Sp take out the FSA and be done with it. Again, what the big deal on a $200 that comes with a HS?

jury didnt come in white, kilo did. Even though I was considering black at the time, I picked white. and even if I were to pick black, the 20 dollar difference is still 20 dollars im not spending

you know, i wish BD would put a 74deg headtube on ALL sizes of the kilo, and a 73 or 73.5 on the jury, and just do progressive slope seat tubes. i know there are legitimate reasons for size-based geometry, but seriously.

Isn't that pretty much the Fantom Cross Uno?

The cross uno is a pretty cool bike actually.

I built up a chrome jury. I like it. I run 28s with a lot of room to spare. It's a really relaxed ride, nice commuter. Canti braze-ons would've been nice, but we can't always get what we want.

Bikes Direct has the JURY track fame that can take racks, fenders and tires as wide as 42c. It has brake clearance problems with a very limited amount of caliper brakes available with 80mm+ reach

which is why I'm looking at it. The brake... well, they exists so that's not a show stopper.

Really, which ones are those? If you want to install a rear brake on the Jury frame, it needs to have over 80mm of reach. Please enlighten me.

Sorry, the back brake is tougher, I was planning on running fixed with only a brake in the front, which is easier to find (I think it requires less reach). Though there are some things I was looking at to increase the braking power considering the long-er reach brake arms can be tricky.

BI supposedly has some highlighted that work (buried somewhere in this thread), the front brake needs a little less reach than the back.

I'm not building it yet, just have some things highlighted for when I'm ready. Worst case, I figure I'll email BI when I'm finally ready to build.

I'm planning a University of Kansas (Rock, Chalk, Jayhawk!) color scheme which might offend some but I'm thinking'll be pretty slick.

Maybe a bmx caliper could work? 65mm-89mm:

Or drum/coaster brakes...
