If you'd rather ride with a bit more upright position than you would in std track drops, then they're great...with lot's of hand positions as a bonus. Nitto makes great ones, even ones with a relatively deep drop on the extensions, although Nitto's are a tad heavier than the current triathlon models everyone else makes...Profile, Syntace, etc. I'd say get a set and swap 'em out with the drops every other week or so.

the other thing to consider is that bullhorns will probably change the geometry of your bike a little, or at least the way you sit on the same frame.

I have been running a similarly styled bar called Air Wing by profile. I love the way they ride, great place to grab while you're pumping, er, wait a second, oh yea, I meant that, a great feel to the ride, nice hand placement, not expensive, and very comfortable when compared to drop bars, even if they both have their charm.

many years ago I had the bull horns and I thought they were the ****e. I liked them when out of the saddle and esp for slowing down/skidding they are like a lever control.

I prefer bullhorns - way easier to get yourself into position when you skid. I'll be putting some back on my bike once it gets a new fork and neck.
