Kilo TT Wheels okay w/ 700x28

Can anyone tell me if 700x28 tires fit on the stock Kilo rims? Just got my bike but have to wait till Christmas to set it up. I'm hoping to put a wider tire on it.

Thanks,
Mike

Tires will range in size even though labeled a specific size but I do believe 28 is the highest you can go with the kilo.

I have a Kilo TT frame from bike island. I'd be careful. I tried putting a 26 on mine, and it barely fit on my 48 X 16.

Consider adding a link to the chain perhaps. but it might be different with the complete Kilo TT.

what does that have to do with tire size?

Because with the chain length I had, the tire rubbed really close to the frame. About 3 mm from the seatpost. Definitely a bit too close. I added a link to the chain, which fixed it.

A longer chain will put more distance between the tire and the frame. This obviously only applies to the rear wheel. But yeah, the fork shouldn't give you problems for the front.

adding a link to the chain will allow you to pull your wheel back further, away from the seat tube
beat me to it~

Thank you. Sounds to me if I go 700x25 I will be okay all around. This is my first fixie and I'm looking forward to making it a good all around/knock around ride.

Have to say, I go to the road forum a lot because I road ride on a Tarmac. This forum is more friendly and informative w/o the usual bull***** from the regulars over there....

I've got a 700x25c on my kilo's rear wheel right now and it fits great.

This thread is not representative of SSFG. Plenty of bull**** to be had around these parts.

Also, are you gonna change the gear ratio up at all? When I threw a 17t cog on mine it gave me less such low clearance between the tire and seat tube that I can't fit my finger between them. I guess I'm just recommending that you get all that stuff together before you figure out how long you need your chain to be so you don't have to do it more than once.

I put a 28c Vittoria Radonneur on the rear of a Kilo frame, had to scoot it back in the fork ends, but it fits. Still have about 2/3" of the fork end left to work with to
