everyone is gonna say something else, but use YOUR creativity, not someone else's (or lack there of), but hell, here's some ideas:
are you going for a vintage look? red & black & brown
are you going for a ugly cheesy hipster/tarck look? lime green & black are very popular, or all white with pink or blue accents, or just as many ugly colors you can find all on one bike
something classy? Orange & brown look great together, or a rich green with honey brown

im a bit obsessed by oranage and black. my next build is blatently going to be oranage.
my current bike is black, red, and brown which i love. black frame, red rims with the machined area left plain, with brown leather seat and grips. kinda like a hotrod. my bike is more of a ratrod though.

Came up with this while fantasizing about doing an online IRO build:
Some may consider it cheesy or whatever, but I really like it.

1. look up bikes on the interwebz. (velospace, njs.blogspot, tricktrack, google)
2. consider the "style" of bike you're building (tarck, vintage, keirin)
3. pick out your favorite bikes, what color schemes do you find yourself drawn to.
4. ape.
or....(shudder)...click this...pedalmafia.

Use this?
Use the opposing corners e.g. Yellow goes with Red + Blue etc. Then you can rotate around - Orange with Green + Purple
