Dilemma
So I have narrowed my bike choices down to 2 bikes, The Mercier Kilo TT($350) and Windsor The Hour($300).
After reading up a bit I have heard mixed opinions over which one is better. Some say the Kilo has a true track frame(even a better quality steel). Some say the wheels on the Windsor are better. No true definitive answer as to which is the better bike though.
Its clear that in the photo the Windsor does not have as good of a geometry in the front as the Kilo has(I think).
I kinda like the looks of the Windsor more though. Especially that all the smaller components are black, stem, hubs etc.........
But let me here what you all have to say.

Kilo period. Why? mostly the fork is way better looking, threadless, slightly steeper geo, pretty much the same other than that.

You're gonna want new wheels eventually anyway, I would guess.

People I know that have the kilo love it. I've known 2 people who got rid of their hour shortly after aquiring them.
If it was me I'd go with the Kilo
yes, it will make you more popular, people will think you're cool, now go buy one already!

I dunno, I think I'd go for the windsor, because...
- it comes in a wider range of sizes. 4cm jump from the 53 to 57 on the TT, yikes
- I also think the Windsor would look damn fine after stripping decals from the top and down tubes.
- the bikesdirect site says it's available in threaded and threadless, dunno how you make the choice...
I'm not sure what the difference is on the front geo, looks like both frames have a HT angle of 72 for sizes under 54cm and 73.5 degrees for sizes 54-58. Then the massive windsor 61cm HT is 75 deg. Doesn't say what the 64 is.
It sure does look like the front wheel of the TT is nice and tucked in compared to the hour, however.

Both of them have weird geometries and the geometries vary with the size of the frame. At larger sizes, the Hour appears to have quicker handling than the Kilo TT. Look at the geometry of your size very closely. Neither of them are really very "track" and none of the minor differences between these two bikes is really going to make a difference to you other than perhaps looks. Get the cheapest or if the Kilo TT looks $50 better to you, get that. Personally, I recommend one of the models with brakes, such as the Messenger.
