Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? iro mark v question

I’m thinking of buying a IRO Mark V complete from their website and was wondering if anyone here had bought one direct from them and if so how much assembly was involved? I’ve not been able to find any concrete info on this from searching the forum and IRO have not replied to my question about this.

Does the frame come with the bb/crank/headset installed for instance? I’m just trying to figure out if I could carry out the work myself or if I’d need to get a local bike shop to do some of it for me (which would push up the cost obviously).

Thanks.

yes the only thing you'd need to install are the seatpost, front wheel, and bars+ stem(?).

Stem is already installed. You'll also have to tape your bars. And if you get a brake from them you'll have to adjust it, or at least I did.

I planned on getting front and back brakes, so I am guessing I would need to adjust both which is not a problem.
