Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? bigger or smaller

I know I'm gonna get a ton of **** for starting this thread but I'm finally ordering a Pake frame tomorrow.

I'm 5'7", with 30" inseam, roughly. I have a 54cm Nishiki road frame currently and it feels slightly too big.

So my question is, 51cm or 53cm? I'm ordering online so can't try it out.

I was initially going to buy a 50cm mercier kilo tt until they sold out of black, and if that fits like a 52cm, then one extra cm smaller shouldn't kill me, right?

Sorry for being a pain in the ass, just ordering tomorrow and making a last minute decision here.

Thanks

Please describe how it feels too big. Are you too stretched out? What are the st and tt lengths (c-t and c-c-, respectively, please).

I feel slightly too stretched out. The only real sizing issue is stand over height. Mounting and dismounting feels very awkward (as my goods straddle the top tube), especially at red-lights.

I don't know the exact measurements on this bike..

I know I want a Pake...

The 54 now is rideable, it feels pretty damn good for the most part.

Maybe I should just go with the 53 to be safe?

I just suggest: you should go with between 50cm and 52cm frame.

Good luck with your decision!
