uhhh it's less than $300 so it shouldn't be too hard to have the bike of your dreams if your dream is a Schwinn Cutter.

Wow...how much $$$ has been sunk here collectively?
I scroll through these pics of mirror-polished, immaculate fixies, and want to cry.
People are worried about fixed riding selling out like surfing, punk and skateboarding... a bit late to worry about that, methinks.
The kind of dough that went into one of the bikes pictured here (excluding the two or three beaters) could buy biycles for the population of Rwanda.
I am spinning on an EF Schwinn Varsity that I found in a shop scrap bin, with barely any parts on it. It now sports an assortment of Ritchey, Race Face, Shimano, and other medium quality parts.
In its current iteration, I payed money for the front tire, headset, stem, BB adapter, pedals and chain masterlink, which total under $50. The rest were found for free. I repeat: 50 dollars.
Seriously, people: give a quarter of your monthly bike budget to charity. It will make a significant difference, I guarentee.
If you are feeling very generous, give a 32th to me.

1982 Schwinn Traveler - 25" (63.5cm!)
Started out as a $20 frame from the local bike co-op, then rapidly got out of hand after somebody organized a trip to the powdercoater.

I love it. I'm going through the same thing now with a 59' Racer that I'm converting into a faux path racer. Cost me nothing. But, then the parts creep started and the bill is getting longer and longer. Worth it though!
