What would you ask for this?

I want to sell my 92 Schwinn Paramount on Craigslist but I don't want to screw over anyone and I don't know the approximate value of this bike. It is a 92 Paramount with Shimano 500EX parts. I even have the derailers should someone want to convert it back. What would you sell it for? Any help would be appreciated.

$400-500, considering what I can see of the condition. And that's only if it's a USA-made Paramount, not a Japan-made PDG model.

It is a Japan made Paramount. It was made as Schwinn moved alot of its operations oversees during there bankruptcy.

what kind of nut is that on your back axle?

kenseth03 01-20-09 03:58 PM

It's in great shape except the usual older bike paint scratches. Actually for it's age it's pretty nice.

Garage door needs some work. The bike would sell for more if you paint the door.

Ask in the C and V vintage values or Schwinn forum

I paid 200 for my approx. 1992 PDG Schwinn and it came with Shimano 600 component group.

Sangetsu 01-21-09 04:05 AM

It's a good bike, almost identical to the one which I have.

Yes, it's Japanese, but the build quality is better than 90% of the "pista" bikes being sold right now. If I were you, I wouldn't take less than $500 for it. Too many fixies are overpriced junk, your Paramount comes with decent handling, good quality steel, and very good workmanship. Waterford Paramounts bring the big bucks, but the quality of the workmanship on the Japanese models is not inferior in any way.

You'll be lucky to get $300.

peabodypride 01-21-09 08:47 AM

$350 sounds good to me and haggle down to $300. Looks in really good condition.

$200-300.

I've got a 1991 Series-5 PDG, and I couldn't get the thing to move at $300; even with the full 105sc setup and new tires/chain on it. I stripped it down and transferred the parts to an '88 Trek 400 I found in the trash, because the Trek frame is larger, and I was really cramped on the PDG.

(The PDG series bikes had the same frame with different component levels and paintjobs, until you hit the Series-9, which was a Kestrel carbon frame.)

If anyone is interested in a 58cm '91 Series-5 PDG frame and fork, sent me a PM.

na975 01-21-09 06:22 PM

throw it under a bus and be done with it!;)

nahh 01-21-09 07:13 PM

Not more than $250.

yepyep 01-21-09 08:37 PM

I had a hard time getting $350 for mine when it was still geared. I agree, $250, tops.
