Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? SS MTB Picture Thread

Did a search and didn't find any dedicated SS MTB Picture threads, so I started one. Let's see all of them. Here's mine: Mongoose Fireball frame I converted to SS, put Avid Juicy 7's on it, new longer travel fork (150mm, stock was 100mm and sucked), seat from parts bin, and better pedals from the parts bin.

Sorry for out of focus pictures. It was sprinkling so i had to put a bag over my camera, which threw off the AF.

edit: not sure what the fuss was about with the beer cans if they're unacceptable on the site or what so i turned them into coke cans.

Ya the saddle works good for dj and freeride cus you're never sitting on it lol. any riding where you have have to sit on for a while gives me the aches and pains.

This bike has been workin awesome for urban freeride/trials kind of stuff. Not the lightest thing around (~29-30 lbs I think) but it's a blast.

It's what I had in the garage fridge. I don't drink, so it's not an issue for me.

Really? I've never gotten sore riding on it, and before I got my roadie, I was taking that saddle for pretty good rides ~ 30-40km.

edit: now that I think of it, I have had the saddle for about 5 or 6 years, so it's pretty broken in now.

I think just having coors light in the house is grounds for a one way ticket to hell. Can we get a moderator in here?

Damn cool bike though,

I'm tempted to do a conversion on my craptacular Huffy, even though I know there's no way it'll be worth the money and effort.

I'm going to convert my late 90's trek 7000 after I finish building my current fixed gear. Not sure if I'm going to go SS or just convert to 9 spd, straight fork or suspension fork. For now its my winter sled.

I want a pugsley so bad! it is such a great bike when used right. Anchorage may be in my near future and I'm sure a Pugsley would accompany me as well.

El Comandante, I suppose? Nice frame. A bit pricey, but by far the technically best in the thread so far.
