I was looking to get a cheap but reliable frame to build up my first fixed gear. I was looking at some frames on Bike Island.com. Does this look like a good deal...Price is $199. If not can anyone suggest a similar priced frame?

dude, i hate to be "this guy" to your "that guy" but have you ever been on this forum before? bike island and the kilo TT get talked about pretty much every DAY on here. use the search function and you will find out more than you ever wanted to know about it.

I have a motor pecan from Bike Island. I mean, sure...why not...it was a killer deal on a descent road frame and I had the thing in like three or four days. I ordered it from their website and it was actually cheaper than the same thing from their ebay store...so unless it nukes itself for some reason, I'm pretty happy.

I ride a size 57cm of that same frame, purchased as a complete bike from BikesDirect, and it's been a great frame. Absolutely worth $199 as a frameset, and you can put better components on it than the completes on BD.
