I want to pick up these Origin 8 bullhorns, but I know of different sized bars could possibly affect my brakes.. I have a Tektro RL570 lever, and just wondering if they would fit..

i didnt wanna start a new thread for a simple question so here it goes, im starting out on this whole fixie thing. looking to spend around 400-600 depending on what it is.
locally i can acquire a 09 bianchi pista in blue for 499 + tax or ive found a specialized langster in aluminum for 425.
online i can acquire a pista for 499 tax free or of course the typical mercier kilo tt.
out of all of these im thinking about picking up the pista. however i am open to other ideas. originally i was going for a leader build but realized it was gonna be way more than what i wanted to spend.
just for reference:

Your cog is slipping.
Pretty sure the RL570 has a 31.8mm clamp. You'll either need to get a new lever with a 24mm clamp or make a huge shim (which I don't recommend).
Here:

Also, if your current bars are 31.8 and you're getting bars that are 26.0, you're either going to need a handlebar shim or a new stem. Post a pic of your current setup.

Your cog is slipping.
Depending on what stem is being used, mounting a cross lever on the bulge doesn't always work because the stem sometimes interferes with the barrel adjuster.
I know from experience with those Origin 8 bars that you need to mount the lever on the 24mm section if you want it to function properly.

Stock stem. Bike link and stock parts are here: https://www.bikesdirect.com/products/...rome_paint.htm
If not, recommendations to bullhorns that would fit.. Or I'll just ask my bike shop to chop and flip them.

Any advice on keeping my skinny little hiney from hurting so much after a ride? I'm not used to such narrow, firm seats. I'm assuming I'll just have to get used to it.

Been riding MTB and BMX and have wanted to have a nice bike just for urban commutes. Not a lot of hills here so I feel like a fixie with a front brake would be great for me. I am 5'9 and imagine a 53 should work pretty well.
I dont want a blinged out fixie and was wondering what a few good options are. I would not rather not spend a lot on a fixed bike since it kind of defeats the purpose in my mind. That being said, I have always rode on MTBs or BMXs and really do not know the ins and outs of track bikes and tires..etc. Some of the roads here are bricked, and there is a fixie store right near me. I just have a feeling it may be higher end since I am seeing these bikes go for a lot!
I need to find that $100 fixie thread..maybe..lol..but any advice would be appreciated.

Just found out that my Dawes SST doesnt use oversize bar, I found this out the hard way when I was going to swap out a matching stem to my saddle. UGh...is it advisable to shim the current bar so it will fit the oversize stem? or is that a stupid move.

hi,
how do I know if a chainring fits a crank?
I'm asking because i'm buying a Stronglight crank and I want to throw a Miche chainring onto it.
