You know what's more embarrassing than falling in lycra? Falling in lycra and ripping your shorts, right along your ass.

That was the first thing i checked when i got up. I was sooooo lucky.

My girlfriend at the time was scared out of her mind. I walked over to a bench to inspect my wound, heavily doused in shock, and made her toss cookies by moving my skin over the bone. I subsequently had to drive myself to the hospital.
Grossss. I had a similar incident when I was on my bmx and hit a jump, slipped off the pedal, and left a huge gash on my leg. I biked home all bloody, got some paper towels and tape and made myself a bandage and went back out biking lol. I still have a huge scar on my leg till this day. Kinda regret not getting stitches but I guess it worked out fine lol.

I was going underneath an overpass, cruising in the middle right of the lane, at least 45 minutes before "legal" sunset.

This happened about 20 years ago...pretty much every kid growing up in Toronto has had a mishap of some sort with the damned streetcar tracks. It is almost like a rite of passage. The really dumb thing is that I did the same exact thing about 2 weeks later and the exact same thing happened. I was a dumb kid...

I limped home, then the next day my navel orange-sized ankle was diagnosed as being broken. Actually, they thought my talus (technically a foot bone) was broken. However, a week later, they took a closer look at the x-rays, realized it was not broken, and took the cast off. I was back on a bike within a few weeks, although it took me until spring '08 to build another decent fixie.
