New Blood!!!
Whats up guys. I recently bought a Republic SS/FG. This si my first road bike but I have
some miles on a road bike. My question is should I run SS or Fixed at first. I wanna ride fixed
but alot of the rides I'll be on have decent hills. I know that I can run a brake and should be ok
but wanted the opinion of more experienced riders. Thanks

If you have a brake, fixed isn't going to be that much more difficult than single-speed (if you could even call it difficult). The only real difference (that you need to worry about) at that point is whether or not you want to coast down hills.
Also, haha adriano.

go back and forth for a while to see what you like. Spend a day or two on each side.
With either SS or FG I always have a brake, even if I don't use it.

Just go fixed if you wanna go fixed. Throw a front brake on, and crank the s*&% out of those climbs. Once you start passing roadies on the climbs, you'll love it. Also, work on not using your brake unless you really need to. You'll be amazed at how quickly you'll build up leg strength by slowing.
