Love my Steamroller. Had it set up all spring to commute to work 35km round trip as pictured. Performed awesomely. I've since put Maxxis knobby CX tires on it and taken off the fenders as my commute changed and it's now a trail/gravel road bomber. Great bike !

It appears that Surly is no longer selling the Steamroller complete bike, only the frameset now.

New and updated pics to come soon. I think the 09 Surly's came with decent components. I hope if they bring them back they'll spec them the same.

Go check them out yourself and see what you think. Details like dropouts, seat clamp, steel grade etc.

I checked long ago. What is 612 & what is so great about it? You can state for a fact that it is that much better than good ol' 4130, natch? What about an integrated seat clamp is so superior to a separate seatpost collar? Those cutesy cutout trackends must account for the higher price, right? Does room for bigger tires on a trackish bike mean much? If so, Big Block claims room for only 32c, Surly says Steamroller fits 38. Hmmm...

As to my intruding into your Steamroller superthread, I wouldn't have done so except for the asinine remark in the Surly advert dissing people who buy stuff that is better.

Still kicking.
I could have gone the extra 55 for the big block, but needed a size between a 52cm and a 55cm, so went with the steamroller which came in an in between size.

Steamroller is a badass bike. With a big Surly family following, you would have to be an owner/operator to understand. I don't see an All City Big Block Super thread. We'll just leave it at that, now bring on the pics.

Very sharp looking, it came out niceeee. Made me want to go out and get some cheap risers so I did. Here's a few pictures from my night time ride tonight. I'm not very good with my camera yet so don't hate on my skills i'm better at taking pictures in the day time lol. My cable housing doesn't fully reach the grips so I might fix that soon. For the mean time my brake is still functional.
